Happy Easter from Small Town Gosselins

Easter brings another beautiful spring day to Wernersville, PA after another week (season, year, heading toward decade) of Kate Gosselin drama.  Outside in the real world the sun is shining and a slight breeze invites us to kiss the cold and darkness of winter goodbye.  Every day is a new opportunity for new choices and beginnings.  May today welcome a season of peace and harmony for all of us including Kate Gosselin and especially the eight beautiful children who did not ask to be a part of the publicly-displayed continual emotional upheaval they are burdened with.  Happy Easter, everyone!

Cute cupcakes. What did you use for the handle?

Very appropriate sentiments Polly. However, Katie Irene has not gotten the memo as evidenced by her twitters over the weekend (blocking a paying customer for her cruise because she dared to twit Jon that she would like to buy his book when it is published), to posting a picute of a place setting with a place card inscribed Kate's future husband, to either actually taking the photos herself or inviting INF Daily on her property to photograph the kids (with the boys in too large of shirts & vests) duirng their Easter Egg hunt.

She is a lost cause. Hope Jon wins big on Wednesday!!

Happy Easter to you and yours Polly.

Easter. Memories of new dresses, coloring easter eggs, and chocolate bunnies, at least this was a glimpse into my childhood over 40 years ago. Now I'm too old to color eggs but I have to admit that I done so at least once in my 20s, 30s and 40s "just because". So far the urge has not hit me in my 50s.

I currently live near a county park where the Saturday before Easter is a egg hunt. In days gone by there were reportedly over 2,000 eggs but with this economy it is probably half that number. To get a visual, think of the egg hunt scenes from STEEL MAGNOLIAS.

Yesterday I read that in England during an easter egg hunt a 3 year old child found a live WWII grenade. Thank goodness someone knew what it was and it was detonated with no one getting hurt.

But in Wernersville not a surprise photos of the G kids have shown up on inf daily. 8 kids looking for 800 eggs (number of plastic eggs filled and hidden per Kate's tweet). This is why the viewers stopped watching the show -- 8 priviledged kids looking for 100 eggs each, and they were not eggs that they colored and I am assuming this is because they have Rhode Island Red hens so the eggs they lay would be brown, not white. In other words, if Kate wanted the kids to color eggs she would have to buy them, but she is broke and can't afford to buy white eggs. Poor kids.

Again since photos have hit the Internet I figure either Kate called the paps or she herself took the photos and then sold them. After all she is doing whatever to stay relevant and I can only hope that in time the photos will be worthless.

That egg hunt - what a fiasco. Phony phony phony, just like the show. Who knows what happens inside that house but it surely doesn't match the facade taking place outside.

Hey Belle, welcome, and I can't lay claim to those pretty cupcakes. The photo came from Google Images. :D They sure look good though don't they?

I hope the kids had a nice Easter with both their parents. I wish Jon well on Wednesday, for whatever reason he's going to court.

And here's to a new beginning of a world without Gosselin news.

It has long been said that CA is the land of fruits and nuts, and now per TMZ.com sometime last night one of the nut jobs decided to vandalize Nadya Suleman's car by breaking a window. Also, to make sure everyone knows it was intentional and she was the target, there was a note for Nadya to "leave CA or die".

Whereas I am mad that Nadya is on welfare, I do not support any violence, period. If she needs the help and qualifies, then it is there for her and her children.

So here we have a mom with kids on welfare being victimized ... and IMO it is not so far fetched that some nut job in PA might come out of the woodwork and target a mom with money and her kids because they have sooo much when so many families are struggling to make ends meet.

Seriously, what 1 child needs to find 100 eggs?

If Kate had really wanted to score some *positive* points with the public then she should have invited other kids to help her kids find the hidden eggs. But for her 8 to be on an 800 egg hunt -- and then to add insult to injury where it just so happened to be a photo opportunity where she might even be getting a financial kick back from Chris Watts who took the photos -- is just going to piss people off.

Why can't Kate see that by flaunting all that she has and trying to stay in the public eye that she is putting targets on her back, as well as her children????

Silimom,

Unless it has been proved somewhere, or if you yourself have checked to see if there is an online court case index in whatever county the Gosselin family court drama may be in to confirm that there is something this week going before the judge, or if you have seen a court docket in person, I would not assume that there is in fact a court case of any kind tomorrow.

My understanding is that the person who tweeted the information has since deleted their account. Out of curiousity I went to twitter.com and noted that Jon himself tweeted not to believe everything you read and to consider the source.

That being said, yesterday on my AOL home page I see a video about Kate. How can some of these media sites be considered legit if they too go by a tweet, especially if Kate would be the one to initiation action against Jon if in fact he was not paying child support??? Geesh!!!

Of course if it is in fact Jon requesting a hearing about more visitation time then Kate would have been notified by her attorney. Still there was no way she was blindsighted no matter who filed the action, IF there is a court action.

Like you I am also looking forward to a Gosselin-free news world. Hang in there, the time is coming.

I agree Mickey, so what does Kate do? Schedule to take the twins on a cruise ship where they'll be isolated in the middle of the ocean. I was on a cruise recently and I was amazed at how the kids had the OPTION of going to the Kids Club but lots of kids chose not to and there were single kids all over the ship by themselves. Some of them were so young I wouldn't even let them walk in a mall alone, much less on a ship with 3000 strangers. The G kids are famous and are targets for good and bad attention. Unless those kids have someone with them literally at all times they are sitting ducks in that environment.

Mickey - Wise words, as always. According to the Admin on 15, who says she saw the court docket, there was indeed a hearing but it was to review Jon's child support obligation in light of the fact that he was recently awarded more physical custodial time, something Jon confirmed in a tweet a month or so ago.

Interestingly, his Linked In page shows that he is self employed now and it looks like his employment at Omega ended sometime in 2012. (I am assuming if he were still working there it would have said "2011 - present" instead of "2011-2012".)

I have to confess, I find that a little disheartening, what with his recent media appearances and the book he's writing. I had rather a lot of admiration for the fact that he was working a mediocre job to supporthis kids and give them some normalacy. I still do appreciate that he is trying to keep his private life mostly private and seems to protect the kids' privacy. I just know he got so burned last time trying to be a "star" and I wouldn't wish that on him again.

Obviously, he's a grown man and can do what he wishes. As always, good luck to him and the kids.

I T A that the G kids would be sitting ducks because they are famous.

I have never been on a cruise and I am not a parent. That being said, I don't think it is hard to figure out why some parents who if on vacation and thinking because they are isolated on a cruise ship might feel that their chldren would be "safe" and therefore relax a bit on their parenting rules in regards to their kids.

This is unfortunate because the vacation could wind up being very sad with long term ramifications because predators are everywhere including on cruise ships.

I hope that if Kate and the twins do go on this cruise that she does have security with the twins at all times so they can enjoy the cruise (personally I think Kate is going to bail last minute since it is rumored that there are only 30(?) people booked). If Kate will have to pay for security out of her own pocket because she is not making as much money as she hoped, I would not be surprised if she just kept the twins locked up in a cabin during most of the cruise.

I read on a site where they show "celebs" net worth , and it said Kate was worth 5-6 Million.

April 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJulie B

Silimom,

Like you I have mixed feelings re Jon. Now that I have learned from your post that he may - or may not - still be working his most current mediocre normal job, it does not mean that he quit his job thinking that he is going to get rich pushing the book that he is writing. He simply may have been impacted by a reduction of work force due to the economy and if so, he may be already working another real job that we know nothing about. Only Jon knows for sure.

As I have learned about NPD over the past couple of years, I admit I count on Jon to be the "normal" parent that the kids will be able to rely and count on now, as well as in future years. In other words I think that as they get older they are going to voluntarily separate from their mother and run to their father for emotional and spiritual support; it will their father's house, not the McMansion that they will choose to spend their holidays with the Gosselin grandchildren.

As for Jon's book, I don't see how it can be written without mentioning the kids in any way. I don't think it is going to be a father's parenting guide because let's face it, the Gosselin home was a TV set and with all the activity that included cameramen and producers underfoot, just how much parenting actually went on?

It comes down to that if the kids did not exist, you and I would never have heard of Jon and Kate Gosselin, there is no way that Jon and Kate would have become celebrities and/or pop culture icons. So it seem to me that Jon has to be writing a book about his life while doing a reality TV show and how it impacted his marriage, children and life.

Jon had a taste of fame and I don't think he is looking to get back into the limelight other than to push the sales of his book. I could be wrong, but IMO I think he is hoping that a book about what has happened in the past few years will be marketable and a source of income for his own bank account (I hope he knows that he can count on Kate's attorneys requesting book sale figures so his child support payments will be impacted).

I know that I will buy Jon's book because I hope it will confirm or validate what I think happened, or at least fill in some gaps so to speak. What I don't know is how many buyers really care about his book because a lot of people will always believe the headlines that Jon is and always will be a cheater and they have moved on to other stories about current celebrities. Also, now that Kate still has a bodyguard traveling with her even when there is no show indicates to me that Jon was right to be suspicious of her actions, but does America still care about either Jon or Kate?

Whereas I don't believe all the headlines, I also know that where there is smoke there is fire. So as a former fan of the show I hope that after all this time I will get some definitive answers, and Jon I think is more likely than not to tell the truth. Let's face it, between the two of them I know that if Kate's lips are moving she must be lying.

I know that at one time Jon was very ignorant but by 2009 was very savvy when it comes to the main stream media (Just like Levi Johnston -- isn't it amazing that the same week that Sarah Palin is filling in on TODAY that news comes out of Alaska that Levi has knocked up another young woman? Coincidence? No way Jose!) This just proves that timing is everything and Levi, like Jon, is hoping for another payday just like before, but there is no doubt that their 2009 gravy trains have already left the station.

It will be interesting to see how long it will take for Kates camp to put a lien on Jons book proceeds. Let's face it Jon is never going to have his own life unemcumbered by
the kids, Kate, their lawyers. He relinquished any and all life's freedoms with the
second pregnancy. Too bad they didn't have the forethought to live frugally.

Oh Lordy Bee Linda, I can see this happening too. She doesn't need the money but she'd do it just out of spite. What a horrifying thought.

Jon Gosselin ‏ @jongosselin1
Maybe I should start a blog, seems very trendy. wonder how that would go. probably boring, haha

I found Jon's tweet this morning and thought: GO FOR IT JON!!!!

Seriously, why not Jon? Especially if you will be launching a book soon as it could only increase sales.

Also, since it was reported that Jodi and Kevin did not sign a confidentiality agreement because they are family, I'm assuming that Kate did not ask you to sign one either. Now that the contract with TLC is a done deal I don't see any reason why you could not have your own blog and represent your side of the story.

April 13, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMickey McKean

I'd certainly read it. Can't wait to read the book. I'm sure Jon will take the high road unlike another certain someone.

April 14, 2012 | Registered CommenterWerny Gal

I am sure Kate won't take too long to pounce on Jon's income from the book, but she does have a legal right to, as well as Jon has to provide a certain % of his income according to the state.
It sorta sucks that she will get more money out of the guy, but Jon's trying to do right by his kids, so that's the right thing to do.
I wish there was some way to make sure the money was being spent ON the kids...that would be a win for the kids.
As Kate said on twitter, her kids know the truth...yes, they do. They know which parent truly loves them and wants the best for THEM. Kids aren't stupid. These kids know Kate uses them for money;they have for quite some time. I wonder what that feels like?

April 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commentertxmom

I agree txmom and there's going to be hell to pay, hell which will grow the older they get.

Jon got screwed royally in this entire fiasco - being on the show and losing years of his life top lack of privacy and hassle, losing his marriage, losing his kids the majority of the time, getting screwed by TLC because he refused to film, being screwed by the judge who said the kids had to keep working to support the family, etc ad nauseum - and she could give a flying poop.

April 15, 2012 | Registered CommenterWerny Gal

txmom said...I wish there was some way to make sure the money was being spent ON the kids...that would be a win for the kids.

*******
I think a lot of non custodial parents wish that. My understanding, however, is that you can request an accounting for how the money was used from the custodial parent through child support services. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought I heard at one point.

To be fair, Kate's expenses for the mortgage, food and utilities plus the kids' tuition runs more than $3500 a month anyway, so I think it's safe to say that Kate is using that money for their support, as well she should be. So Jon does, I believe, safely know that the money he pays is going to his children's support.

I think the frustration that most "Team 8" people have is that she very likely is dipping into the earnings from the show to make up the difference and also fund her hair salon visits, mani/pedis, travel expenses that aren't comped, Steve's expenses that are not comped (unlike many, I doubt she is paying him a salary. I think she's too cheap for that. I think he travels with her because she builds his fees into her appearance fees. I could be wrong, but that's my theory at this point in time), tanning costs, clothes, etc.

Kate spends money on herself for luxuries that she doesn't seem to afford her children who worked every bit as hard as she did, who lost the stability of an intact family because Mom's desire to be a celebrity was more important to her than really buckling down and working on repairing her marriage and who had their privacy disregarded and thrown aside for 30 pieces of silver. Worst of all, they likely won't have any money set aside for them when they finally turn 18, because Mom will have spent it all making sure they had life served to them on a golden platter, never once really asking and listening to whether they wanted it or not.

April 16, 2012 | Unregistered Commentersilimom

Like other members of "Team 8" I know that I will never know what guarantees, if any, are on the kid's bank accounts.

Can Kate dip into these 8 accounts whenever she feels like it? Can she create a need -- educational, medical or ??? -- so she does not have to use her own money?

For a long time I have believed that Jon and Kate read the Gosselin blogs on both sides of the fence. If this is the case, I have to assume that Jon saw the concern that complete strangers had for his kids, and if so, that Jon and/or his attorney decided that it was best to request that the court appoint a third party to be a trustee for the kid's accounts. Considering the amount of money that would be at issue, I cannot imagine that a trustee would not be appointed if it was requested.

The fact is we will never know if this happened or not unless when the kids reach the age of 18 and start squawking about having no money in their accounts because they had to pay for their own private school expenses and support their mother's lifestyle.

So in the meantime I have decided that I am not going to worry about it because I have no control over the 8 accounts anyway. If the 8 kids grow up and have no money, it will not be me that they will hold responsible.

April 17, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMickey McKean

I watch a few reality shows and two shows in particular I have to admit I cannot help but think of Kate.

The first show is LITTLE PEOPLE. Here we have Dr. Jennifer Arnold and Bill Klein trying to have a child but because Jen is under 3' tall she cannot safely carry a baby so they have chosen the route of extracting her egg and his sperm and use a surrogate. This fertility method is obviously expensive just due to regular costs but especially so for this couple because it involves a lot of traveling from TX to LA.

There was a pregnancy last year which resulted in a miscarriage, a second attempt did not result in a pregnancy, and the latest attempt to extract a viable follicle did not work. I truly feel for this couple, and yet I find I can't help but get angry when I think how Kate Gosselin successfully manipulated medical science when I don't think she needed it in the first place just to make sure she had multiples because she wanted fame and easy money more than the children that she was blessed with. I also have to believe that I am not the only one who is angry about this because there are a lot of people who want to be parents but cannot for whatever reason, and when one sees someone who either abuses or ignores their children ... well you guys know what I'm talking about.

The other show is DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER. My BF recently discovered this show so our DVR is programmed to record new shows. However it seems that the DVR will also record older shows because it thinks that they are new episodes too.

Beth Chapman, wife of Dog, is going out on hunts with her blonde hair in curls, detailed eye makeup, long acrylic nails done, and high heels. Yep, not just heels but high hooker heels like Kate, and when you take into consideration that the Chapmans live in Hawaii where it is a "laid back" environment (I have never seen anyone wear nylons there), IMO these heels look out of place. Whereas I said that I can't see why Kate would wear heels to chase after 8 kids and run everyday errands, I really can't see why anyone would wear high heels chasing down fugitives who are on the run from the law because they don't want to wind up in prison.

So I have to come to the conclusion that being on a reality show makes one get into hair, makeup and heels, and just a couple of days ago I found my proof: there was a 2005 episode where Beth was fresh looking (wearing little or no makeup) and tennis shoes (sensible shoes considering her job). For the record I think she is a natural blonde (she may lighten her hair) because her kids are blonde.

But I also need to mention: Dr Jen Arnold from LITTLE PEOPLE is most often wearing tennis shoes, and considering her height one might think she would want to wear heels not to mention that she is a professional. Whereas there have been occasions where Jen has dressed up for a seminar or whatever and the situation would dictate heels, most of the time she is wearing sensible comfortable shoes. So this proves to me that not all reality show stars get all wrapped into changing their appearance just for the camera.

I just read something about the OTHER momager Kris Jenner , now its on the web, so Im not saying its true. She is trying to get her two youngest daughters NOT to go to college because they will miss their 'window of oppertunity" if they go . Does it sound like her , do you think Bruce would allow that? IF that is true, its one of the sickest things I ever heard

Your thoughts?

April 21, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJulie B

Lordy bee Julie b, that is just horrifying. Educations would prepare them for being able to take care of themselves when fame fails, which it eventually will. But college also provides other important advantages like socializing with other REAL people rather than the superficial money mongers in the biz, and having to actually use their brains to pass classes instead of just getting by because they are fame whores. To me it just validates that they know that they have no talent, because real talent is timeless. Jody foster, Brooke shields and smart talented showbiz people go to college to not only learn but to keep themselves mentally healthy in a business that thrives on skewed values. How sad for the Ks that their mother is teaching them that money is the most important thing.

Well, as usual, I'm behind in my Little Couple, so there won't be any surprises. I believe Jen has one or two pairs of "heels" which were specially made for her buy some man in NYC. Her feet, like the rest of her (but not as bad as Bill) are hard to fit. I guess she could try buying from whoever makes the shoes for those Toddlers and Tiaras. ;-) Anyway, it's nice for her to have grownup shoes for her events (she's like a department head, so she has events).
I kinda like her mom too. She's very supportive and they seem to b good friends.

Down here in FL we lost one of the neighborhood ducks which visit. Fred was found dad at the end of our driveway. Dennis thinks Darth chased him into a path of a car. And we have a new male - that Dennis named Dumbo - cause he keeps sleeping in the driveway when you are trying to park there. I dislike him as he's the only male to try to mate Snuggles, and a week ago he mated Leah for so long, I actually grabbed him by the neck (!) and pulled him off (Darth was already trying.) Then I chased him away. Muscovies are rough maters (and not the least bit disceet about it) but really, he was squishing the poor girl. Rachel is still, as far as I know, with nest - we never see babies. It's finally raining, and Dennis planted some grass in the backyard for the bunny. :-) Flowers abound.

Also, duck of a Facebook friend has survived acute liver toxicity, a stroke, and an egg smashed inside her when she crashed after forgetting she couldn't fly cause she was partially paralyzed, plus weeks when she stopped eating and the day she rebelled against being force-fed. She is now eating on her own, and flying! So exciting! She looks a lot like Snuggles, so I'm partial...
